Hey! My name is Courtney Hamilton, I’m an MSW student at the University of Oklahoma. I was born in Piedmont, Oklahoma, though I grew up and call Indiana my home. After graduating from a rural high school in west-central Indiana, I attended Indiana University (Banner up, Hoosiers!) and received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with minors in Psychology and Spanish.
After my undergraduate studies, I moved to Oklahoma City with initial plans to save up money to pursue a Ph.D. in Sociology to do research on music festival culture. Yet as fate would have it, life threw a curve ball at me and I am now in pursuit of a Master’s degree in Social Work to do community practice in substance and alcohol abuse recovery.
